Air Peace Elevates African Tradition With Isi-Agu Suits for Flight Attendants

Good People, the man of the moment is Chief Allen Onyema of Air Peace – Tekedia 2019 Businessperson Of The Year. In the Igbo Nation, it takes the killing of one leopard to be called a killer of leopards. But what happens when a man has killed many leopards? You give him a plural pronoun – and that means when the man arrives to an event, you say “unu abiala” [you people have come] even though one person is standing right there. Hahahaha. Chief Onyema, you “people” have come!

Chief Allen Onyema is a legend and we commend his entrepreneurial vision and the capacity to find ways to deliver services at scale. The voyage from Nigeria to London, UK, is a great one. And as he did that, he took a really good part of Nigeria: our culture and our heritage. That attire is “isi-agu” and it is a symbol of strength and unbounded energy. And they capped it with a red cap which depicts royalty and leadership. An amazing combo in aesthetic splendour.

I hope they add more Nigerian attires especially for the international routes: let us use those attires to project Nigeria and Africa. Yes, we need to be confident and bold on what makes Africa amazing. Good luck to Air Peace; discover new routes and fly further than the eagles.

Meanwhile, some have written that the latest Netflix movie on the Igbo Apprenticeship System did not cite my work appropriately. Good People, there is nothing to worry: I am happy they cited the Harvard University work even though they muted the name of the village boy behind it.

As a teacher, you consider it an honour when your work can even get to the big screens; I thank the producers for that honour. Sure, the Showmax’s Freemen did a better job by even interviewing me for the movie. With that, I could be entered for the Oscars! I am working for my speech …who knows I could be nominated. Lol

11 THOUGHTS ON Air Peace Elevates African Tradition With Isi-Agu Suits for Flight Attendants

  1. Chief Allen Onyema is probably the biggest believer in the Nigerian Project and Nigerians at large. I have thought of who else operates at his uncommon level, but no other name comes close. From South Africa to Ukraine, from Sudan to anywhere else Nigerians are threatened, Allen Onyema always stands tall. He does his thing before anyone even thinks of what to do, he’s never prompted to take action.

Allen Onyema is nowhere near at the top of richest Nigerians, but here is a man who extremely believes that his compatriots deserve better, and he sleeps and wakes up, thinking of how best to serve his country and his compatriots. Allen embodies patriotism, he’s a Nigerian through and through. He remains an inspiration to everyone who still gives Nigeria a chance, there is always something a committed citizen can do for the fatherland, for the good of all.

We may never know how much Nigerians are cheated globally, until Nigerians step up to found and run corporations of global dimensions, then we will learn that things could be cheaper and better. Glo gave us per second billing here.

God bless Allen Onyema and all those who believe that Nigeria is worth saving, may you keep finding the inspiration to give more to the fatherland.

  2. I can’t for the life of me understand how we Nigerians flock to foreign goods abs service when we have ours. Truth be told the fed government should pass a policy that all government employees going on foreign official assignment or tours must patronise nigerian carriers so long as it is at tax payers expense. Only then can we grow our brand, empower the naira and avoid capital flight. God bless Onyeama for doing this. If only others with the reach could tow this line then we’d give a run for others on ktshr field’s. Fly Arik Fly Nigerian.

  3. Congratulations to Allen Onyenma for the bold step, especially for the maiden flight of Air Peace to the UK. This achievement is for Nigeria and for all Nigerians. This feat was possible, all thanks to the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who believed in him.

I believe Nigeria is rising, and will continue to rise only if we all believe in the Nigerian project of indigenization. The initiative of Air Peace is a clear demonstration that Nigeria can truly continue to rise above every economic challenge if we learn to believe in our abilities. If the Naira is to continue to grow and make progress in the midst of the US Dollars and other currencies, we must all continue to promote every project using our local contents. This brings me to the issue of the hiring of a Coach for the Super Eagles. The NFF should hire an indigenous Coach for the Super Eagles and all categories of our national team, because no foreigner can show love and commitment to the national team more than a Nigerian Coach. The hiring of an indigenous Coach will also help us save and conserve our Naira as the Coach would be paid in Naira. If the Naira is to continue to appreciate, we must continue to do away with anything that would reduce its value.

God bless the Federal government of Nigeria.
    God bless Allen Onyenma
    God bless Air Peace.
God bless all the citizens of Nigeria!

  4. That’s a bold step from a detribalised Nigeria, with his indefatigable igbo man spirit. He is just different from all others and a firm believer in humanity. A true patriotic citizen, during xenophobia in south Africa. He sent his aircraft evacuate Nigerians there. Let our government value their own and support his business with good policy. Nigeria have people who can turn things around for the better. We just need a better environment created by enabling laws and regulations.

    • Until they swallow their Igbo hate and let that part of the country keep what they own, how can a Nigerian property be abandoned by a Nigerian, is he a foreigner, if you want Nigeria open it up to all Nigerians citizens, no Nigerian can be a foreigner in his own country, like the USA you see the country thrive, do you know that Elon Musk is a South African, let everyone contribute to his abilities?

  5. I congratulate Air Peace on their maiden flight to London. I pray they are able to provide a good service for many years to come.

Seems some are complaining about the uniform. The airline has a right to a uniform of its choice. If you don’t like it, don’t fly with them. However, no complaints when compelled to eat cheap pasta and chicken or paying exuberant amount for a 6 hour flight or being packed like sardines in economy in other flights. Ogunlesi owned Gatwick, now sold it to Black Rock of all companies. What did Nigerians benefit during his ownership of the airport?

At least, this is a good start. Give Air Peace a chance. If you can’t do better, keep your stupid comments to your small mind. This should be celebrating success for Nigeria. Not calling out an igbo attire.

  6. My dear all boil down to nothing but feeling of jealousy, insecurity and inferiority. Whoever is blessed is blessed. Detractors can’t understand it, and they can’t stop it, and worst still they can’t do nothing about it.
