Elon Musk has once again crossed the $1 trillion net worth threshold, reclaiming his status as the world’s first and only trillionaire after shares of SpaceX jumped more than 5% on Monday.
According to Forbes estimates, the Tesla and SpaceX chief’s fortune reached approximately $1 trillion to $1.024 trillion, rising by more than $30 billion from the previous trading session.
SpaceX, which trades under the ticker SPCX on the Nasdaq following its June 2026 initial public offering, climbed to around $167–$168 per share during Monday’s session.

The move lifted the company’s market valuation above $2.2 trillion and delivered the largest contribution to Musk’s wealth rebound. Tesla shares also advanced more than 1%, adding further support.
Musk first became a trillionaire in June, shortly after SpaceX began public trading, briefly becoming the richest person in history. He lost the milestone within days as shares of both SpaceX and Tesla declined.
In July, SpaceX stock erased more than $1 trillion from its peak market value. The shares pared some losses after declining as much as 6.9% to $122.12, leaving the company with a market capitalization of $1.61 trillion. The drop prompted the company to abort its Starship rocket launch.
Notably, Musk made headlines after his net worth dropped significantly, leaving him out of the Trillionaire club. The slump saw $130 billion erased from his net worth in a single week. Reacting to it, Musk humourously wrote on X, “Former Trillionaire.”
In recent sessions, SpaceX stock has been climbing, helped by Tesla’s stronger-than-expected third-quarter vehicle deliveries and a series of successful SpaceX launches, including the first orbital flight of its Starship vehicle last week.
Positive analyst commentary, including an overweight rating and an elevated price target from Morgan Stanley that highlighted the stock’s exposure to the space and artificial intelligence sectors, added momentum.
Cathie Wood of ARK Invest has repeatedly called SpaceX potentially the most important company in history, projecting a market capitalization between $2.5 trillion and $3.1 trillion by 2030.
The rapid swings in Musk’s estimated net worth underscore how heavily his fortune is concentrated in the equity of the two companies he leads. Forbes continues to rank him far ahead of the next-wealthiest individual, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose fortune stands well below $400 billion.
Market participants will continue to watch SpaceX and Tesla closely in the coming weeks, with Tesla’s next earnings report scheduled for later this month. For now, the combination of operational progress and investor enthusiasm has restored Musk’s place at the very top of the global wealth rankings.
Outlook
Looking ahead, Musk’s return to trillionaire status is likely to remain highly sensitive to the performance of SpaceX and Tesla, given how heavily his wealth is tied to his holdings in both companies.
Continued success in SpaceX’s launch program, progress toward commercializing Starship, and growing investor expectations around the company’s satellite, space, and AI ambitions could provide further support for its valuation.
Tesla’s performance will also be critical. Strong vehicle deliveries, improvements in margins, progress in autonomous driving and the company’s broader AI and robotics ambitions could strengthen investor confidence and provide another catalyst for Musk’s fortune.
However, the outlook remains volatile. SpaceX’s elevated valuation leaves little room for operational disappointments, while Tesla continues to face competition, valuation concerns, and uncertainty around the pace of growth in its core automotive business.
