Authority figure blindsides top champion on Raw
The most recent edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw came with some interesting angles, turns and important confirmations for the next PPV.
The sports entertainment industry has begun to build and carve out multiple paths to the next thing on the list: Wrestlemania Backlash 2022.
No other person was deemed fit to open the show than the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes. The former AEW superstar kicked off Monday Night Raw and got interrupted by The Miz, the man who defeated The Mysterios at Wrestlemania 38. This culminated in a match which Rhodes won. After the match, Seth Freakin Rollins showed up and challenged Cody to a rematch at Backlash.

Also, on the Red brand's Apr 11 episode, a Title Unification match for both the Smackdown and Raw Tag team was confirmed between RK-Bro and The Usos.
But perhaps the moment which garnered the greatest reaction and anticipation from the fans was a segment in the women's division between newly crowned Raw Women's Champion, Bianca Belair, and WWE official, Sonya Deville.
Having defeated Big Time Becks at Wrestlemania two weeks ago, Bianca was supposed to get to know her Backlash opponent on this episode of Raw. The ambassador of KOD faced off against Queen Zelina in a winning effort. Deville emerged and was going to reveal Belair's opponent. The women's official was however hesitant, claiming it was a difficult thing. What happened next was what shocked the WWE universe. In a jarring and impetuous moment, Deville attacked the Raw Women's Champion before declaring herself as Belair's opponent for the title match. That was clearly one the EST of WWE didn't see coming.
Having drawn the battle line, both women will lock horns at Wrestlemania's posterior next month. Sonya will be looking to get her hands on the gold and win the championship for the first time in her career, while Bianca would be out for retribution following the assault she received from the former.
Wrestlemania Backlash 2022 is set to happen on May 8 at the Dunkin Donuts Center, Providence, Rhode Island.
