With a nod to the movie Brave, which features a ginger heroine, the 28-year-old had no issue connecting her updated appearance to her Disney days. "Merida down in this b---hhhhhh" is what she wrote in the series of selfies she posted on May 10.
Bella later disclosed that she had a significant role in her transformation via an Instagram Story posted on May 12, adding, “Did you know I actually dyed my own hair…who wants to see the video?”

Bella, who co-starred with Zendaya in her Disney dancing series from 2010 to 2013, certainly has been feeling a little nostalgic lately because, only last month, she went through numerous of her artistic phases, paying particular attention to the moments when her hair was red.
“Just at the start of Shake It Up Bella,” in a video posted on April 14, the Midnight Sun actress shared a picture of her first Disney headshot, which was taken back when she was just 12 years old. “She was so innocent. She had barely lived a life at this point. Oh, she had no idea what was to come.”
Cutting to a picture of herself shot only a few years later, she acknowledged one thing that the younger version of herself had already discovered.
“I love this version of my red hair,” Bella stated, still sporting a brunette appearance. “Like, this is when I think red was the best color. It just looks so nice on my skin tone.”
Bella is as thrilled with her current appearance as she is about her past. She recently explained to media sources why she and fiancé Mark Emms, who met in 2022, are not in a hurry to get married after becoming engaged in 2023.
“We're making our love child, which is this movie we just made together that I wrote and directed," in December, she gave an explanation. "I think once we're done with this movie—completion and editing, and everything and press—and then we do Spring Breakers."
And only when the famous 2012 movie's sequel is finished? Bella promised that a wedding will happen soon. In her words, “Then we will have the brain capacity to think and really do it right.”
