Bethenny Frankel is being honest about a perplexing health path. Upon joining a new "medical community," the Real Housewives of New York alum recently disclosed that she had made a significant health finding.
“I really don’t want to tell you this but I have to tell you this because it could help one of you or several of you,” in an Instagram video posted on August 3, Frankel stated that she had recently joined what she called an at-home Mayo Clinic. “They said that I’ve been misdiagnosed with something pretty major. They are pretty resolved.”
Frankel put her sentiments into a PSA for her followers. She and her ex-boyfriend Jason Hoppy have a 16-year-old daughter named Bryn.
“Everybody’s sort of saying that they have everything,” she added. “I’m very confused. I was sort of operating with the idea that I do have this, and I don’t want to throw anybody under the bus. I tried to do the right thing and it’s very confusing and I just think that there’s nothing we should be more thorough about then our medical care.”
In fact, the 55-year-old urged her followers to consider their health carefully, particularly after being diagnosed.
“Whatever it is that you think you have or symptoms that you are experiencing,” she added. “We are so thorough about restaurants and shopping and business, and I think we need to be very thorough about our health.”
Frankel has been incredibly transparent with her followers about another medical journey—her fight with renal disease—even if she did not elaborate on the diagnosis she had been deceived about.
In fact, Frankel has cleaned up misconceptions her doctor cleared up for her by discussing her battle with the stage three illness.
“He said moringa and turmeric are not good for kidneys,” in a February update, she clarified. “He emphasized that with all of these different supplements, whether it’s for your health or a callout, people are just running to do everything. You have to make sure that your doctor knows about it, because some things can affect different parts of your body.”
In her words, “It’s not really a one size fits all model.”
