Brexton Busch Earns First Racecar Win as Mom Samantha Celebrates.

Samantha Busch is enjoying her family's victories. Kyle Busch's wife revealed months after his untimely death that their 11-year-old son Brexton is still carrying on his father's illustrious legacy after winning his first racecar race since the tragedy.

“This is his first win since Kyle’s passing,” on July 18, Samantha posted a picture of Brexton celebrating his win while standing atop a car on her Instagram Stories. “There was a lot of emotions to say the very least.”

On July 17, Brexton emerged victorious in the limited micro sprint class competition held at the Port City Raceway dirt track in Oklahoma. Samantha, who also has a 4-year-old daughter named Lennix with Kyle, said that her son's success was bittersweet even though she is proud of him.

“Beyond proud of him not just for winning but all that he’s navigating at a young age,” the 40-year-old continued, “beyond shattered Kyle isn’t here to be a part of this, beyond grateful for all the support and amazing people we have around us.”

“Watching him celebrate all I could think about was Kyle,” in an Instagram post on July 18, she went on. “There was nothing that made him happier than watching Brex race, spending the day tinkering on his car and then being the first one sprinting to Victory Lane with that huge grin on his face.”

Brexton also discussed the significance of the win for him.

“My first win since my dad passed. I don’t like to talk about it much, but the last two months have been really tough,” after winning, he sent a message on Instagram. “I’m missing my crew cheif, my driver coach, my dad, the guy who I looked up to more [than] anyone.”

Severe pneumonia that developed into sepsis claimed Kyle's life on May 21. He was forty-one.

Following his death, Samantha has been candid about her family's sorrow during what she called "the most heartbreaking days of our lives."

"The love that has surrounded our family during this unimaginable time has brought comfort in the middle of so much pain," on June 5, she posted on Instagram. "Knowing the impact Kyle had on others and seeing how they are honoring him through each unique act of generosity is a true testament to how special Kyle is to so many people.”

“There are moments when the weight of this loss feels impossible to carry,” she continued, “yet time and time again God, through you all, has shown us we are not alone."
