Yes, people go out and promote your products as their works [they are excited on what you do]. It is very common in Africa. I was in a govt agency in Abuja two months ago, and noticed that people had presented Zenvus Smartfarm as their works. I had come with the real stuff to seal a partnership with govt.
Few minutes ago, someone just sent this note to let us know that someone is promoting our camera as his invention.
"Thanks for the acceptance Sir, I saw someone promoting your smart camera as his own work on twitter that is why I decided to reach out to you sir"
