Britney Spears Opens Up About Smoking a Cigarette on a Plane.
Britney Spears recently addressed reports that she smoked a cigarette on a charter flight from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to Los Angeles. In an Instagram post on May 23, she explained that she had expressed a strong craving for a cigarette, and a friend lit one for her. She initially thought it was permitted on the plane but later realized it was not.
"Said I want a cigarette so bad !!!" On May 23, Britney posted a video of herself on an airplane to Instagram. "My friend put it in my mouth and lit it up for me so I was like OH SO THIS IS A PLANE WHERE YOU CAN SMOKE !!!"
"I thought officials greeted me as support and I was like WOW I feel special !!!" She went on. "Am I famous or something??? The flight attendant called officials because I smoked a cigarette !!!"

Authorities reportedly met her upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport and issued a warning. Spears described the incident as "actually incredibly funny" and apologized to anyone she may have offended. She also noted that flight attendants typically seat her at the back of the plane.
"Some planes I’ve been on you can’t smoke mostly but this one was different because the drink holders were on outside of seat !!!" she added. "Confession it was my first time drinking VODKA!!!"
Britney who apologized as well. "I do so apologize to anyone I offended," she wrote, "but the flight attendants always make sure I’m way at the back of plane anyways."
Although she frequently posts videos of herself dancing on social media, the Grammy winner had avoided the spotlight for years, even before her conservatorship was lifted in 2021 after 13 years.
