Julian McMahon’s passing on July 2 at age 56 has stirred heartfelt tributes from those closest to him, including his ex-wife, actress Brooke Burns. The two were married from 1999 to 2001 and share a daughter, Madison, now 25.
Brooke honored Julian’s memory with a touching Instagram post: she shared a nostalgic photo of Julian and Madison cheek to cheek, smiling warmly, with the simple caption “Rest in Peace” and a broken heart emoji. The quiet poignancy of her tribute resonated deeply with fans and friends alike.
Julian’s current wife, Kelly McMahon, also released a moving statement, saying, “Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible”.
The outpouring of love extended beyond family. Former co-stars like Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, and Ioan Gruffudd remembered Julian for his charisma, kindness, and infectious spirit. His legacy lives on through his iconic roles in Charmed, Nip/Tuck, Fantastic Four, and FBI: Most Wanted.
In addition to a slideshow of images from their time on Charmed that was uploaded to Instagram Reels, the Pretty Little Liars star commented, "One of a kind is an understatement." “Your unyielding zest for life and crazy making sense of humor will be sorely missed. The joy and laughter you were the direct cause of will always be remembered. I hope you find our lady friend and dance in those rose petals.”
Ioan Gruffudd, who costarred with the late actor in the 2005 film Fantastic Four and its 2007 follow-up, also shared his memories of the wonderful time he had spent on set with his costar.
“Even though we played each other’s nemeses, there was always so much lightness and laughter working together,” on July 4, the actor posted on Instagram. “Every encounter with him was a joy. It was an honor to be Dr. Richards to his Dr. Doom.”
