Most of our local brands are still gyrating between average and good, which translates to consumers and customers. We are far from having great companies with passionate fans; so it's still a long walk to freedom. If you set up a business with the intent to amass wealth, you can only have consumers, whose staying power is dependent on how long it takes for an alternative to emerge. You must be human-centric to be able to turn customers into fans, making them to be part of something unique, a tribe! Certainly not for the tainted minds and vultures we have in many places as business leaders and owners.
