The loved ones of Daveigh Chase are grieving a terrible loss. Roy Hernandez, the Ring star's lover, confirmed to TMZ that she passed away on June 16 at the age of 35 after battling meningitis and a blood illness.
Hernandez claimed that Chase's blood infection had progressed to sepsis and that her organs had finally shut down. He said that the actress, who provided the voice of Lilo in the 2002 film Lilo & Stitch, had also been hospitalized earlier in the month for being malnourished.

Just before she passed away, Hernandez gave an insight into Chase's struggle with her wellness.
"My girlfriend has always been a light in my life," on his GoFundMe page, he remarked. "Many people know her as a talented childhood actor from Lilo & Stitch, Spirited Away, and Donnie Darko. But behind the scenes, she's faced more than her share of hardship."
"After a difficult childhood and a painful falling out with her family, Daveigh was bullied and struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown LA," he added. "When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved. Together, we found moments of happiness and hope."
But he pointed out that Chase's health started to deteriorate rapidly.
"Daveigh was diagnosed with meningitis and several serious blood infections," he went on to say. "Her condition has become critical, and the doctors have told me she may not have much time left."
"All she ever wanted was a place where we could live together, feel safe, and be happy," Hernandez penned the piece. "Now, more than ever, I want to give her that sense of home and peace in her final days."
Before starring in films like Donnie Darko and Big Love, Chase started her acting journey at the age of eight with a little part in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Before leaving the spotlight, she recently starred in Jack Goes Home with Nikki Reed and American Romance with Nolan Gerard Funk in 2016.
The actress previously discussed her aspirations for her legacy when reflecting on her profession.
"I just want to make something that I love and people will respect," in 2009, she informed Interview Magazine. "I want to do things that will change someone's life, not something they'll forget about tomorrow."
