Diane Warren Wins Bid to Adopt Baby Pig Found Roaming Los Angeles Streets.

The youngster of Diane Warren's family has been stealing the show. The lyricist, who was nominated for an Oscar, won an August. 20 bidding battle over a young pig that went viral after running wild in West Hollywood, California.

"Diane saw the news clips and saw the little pig running in West Hollywood,” the Diane Warren Foundation's managing director, Marcia Zwilling, stated to ABC7, “and she just called me and said, ‘Please get the pig, get the pig!’"

No owners came forward to purchase the 11-week-old pig after it was rescued on August 15 and sent to the West Los Angeles Animal Services Center. Social media users affectionately named the animal "Wilbur" following its Charlotte's Web character.

For the four potential adopters who came forward, a silent auction was held on August 20. According to LA Animal Services, "which is a process that provides a fair and competitive way to determine the adopter without favoritism," NBC4 Los Angeles said.

Warren may have won the most significant competition of all by securing the agreement to win Wilbur, even if she now owns the record for the most Oscar defeats at 17.

Zwilling informed ABC7 that the pig will now reside at Warren's seven-acre animal sanctuary in Malibu, where he will love "gourmet salads every day, beautiful acreage, other friends [and] other animals.”

“It's going to have an amazing life,” she observed, “and grow up to be a very, very, very happy pig."

Following meeting the most recent addition to her animal sanctuary—which also houses a fugitive cow that fled a California slaughterhouse in 2022—Warren is having a great time.

“This is the second wild animal I’ve saved on the streets of L.A.," Warren revealed to ABC7. “I lose Oscars, but I won a pig... it's fun. It's fun."

What will the Grammy winner name the animal?

“We have a Wilbur at the ranch already, so is this Wilbur, the Sequel?” she stated. “I think his name should be Hollywood.”
