Gabby Thomas Opens Up About Her Wedding Reception Being “Destroyed” During Cabo Celebration.

On her wedding day, Gabby Thomas ran down the aisle despite the rain. The Olympic gold medalist revealed charming details about the beachside party a week after she wed her fiancé, Spencer McManes, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She revealed that a storm totally destroyed the reception.

Thomas, who started dating McManes in 2022, posted video of white linen-covered tables with black and gold place settings being showered with rain in an Instagram reel on November 5. He said, “When your entire wedding reception gets destroyed minutes before it starts.”

However, Thomas and McManes were unfazed by the rain.

“But it doesn’t cross your mind once all night,” the 29-year-old went on to share videos of herself dancing in a ballroom with her loved ones and her now-husband. “Because you had the best day of your life.”

Actually, the track and field athlete stated in an Instagram post on November 5th, which included a video montage of her wedding day, “Gave up on perfection and focused on being in the moment together.”

Wearing a gorgeous corseted white lace gown, Thomas pledged "I do" to running toward eternity with her "best friend" and her "favorite people."

The moment that the newlyweds tied the knot on the beach was more memorable than any gold medal, even if they had to face a storm.

“It had been raining all day,” in an interview with Vogue that was released on November 5, Thomas recalled. “But right as our ceremony began, the rain cleared, and a vibrant rainbow appeared behind us just as I reached the altar.”

The sprinter described the experience as "grateful, excited, and completely anchored" as she slowed to a stroll down the aisle with her parents at her side before crossing the finishing line.‌

Thomas was "overwhelmed with love" when she and McManes exchanged vows in front of her loved ones while her grandfather officiated the wedding on the sand.

In the end, the Olympian is merely returning her nuptials with appreciation.

“I feel like the luckiest person in the world,” she revealed. “Not just because rain is good luck, but because the people in that room made it the best day of our lives. There wasn’t a single second where we weren't smiling, dancing, or celebrating. We’re just so grateful.”

In a Nov. 6 Instagram post, Thomas shared pictures from the white-veiled event and stated, “The most beautiful day with the love of my life. 10.30.26 forever & always.”‌
