Gwyneth Paltrow speaks out about the unauthorized biography released in July 2025.

When it comes to her unapproved biography, Gwyneth Paltrow has low hopes. When Amy Odell's book Gwyneth: The Biography was released in July, the Oscar winner remained silent at first, but she eventually gave her thoughts on the book in a single word.

“Boring,” in an interview that appeared in British Vogue on October 15, she dubbed it that. She went on to say of Amy, “She totally missed everything, the truth of who I am, what my impact is.”

Even though the founder of Goop was making her claims, her husband of seven years, Brad Falchuck, did the honors by sharing his comments with Gwyneth before she had even opened the book.

“My husband flicked through it, just because I was like: ‘What is in this?’” she clarified. “He said, ‘It’s as if somebody put in a prompt in ChatGPT and said: mine every Daily Mail article and write a biography about Gwyneth Paltrow.’”

He allegedly went on to say, “‘It’s just bad. It’s really badly written.’”

For her part, Gwyneth was dissatisfied with how the media covered the biography's material, which she claims was produced with little to no interaction with her.

“It was all rubbish,” she went on, “the things that I supposedly said.”

Regarding Amy herself, Gwyneth bemoaned the omission of celebrities like Steve Jobs, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Albert Einstein—all of whom had been the focus of renowned biographer Walter Isaacson—from her biographer's other book, Anna: The Biography about Anna Wintour.

“I think it’s very sexist,” she remarked. “I was like, ‘OK, hang on a sec. Why do the men get Walter Isaacson, and I get this hack?’ You know?” (The interviewer for Vogue reports that they both laughed at this remark.)

Without saying a word, Amy acknowledged that Gwyneth was the one who came up with the idea of ghosting and completely disappearing on a romantic interest. “Oh, that is boss. I didn’t know that. OK, I’ll take that.”

Amy has not yet responded to requests for comment from news organizations.

According to the book summary, Amy sought advice from “more than 220 sources, including close current and former friends and colleagues” of Gwyneth to offer wisdom and “behind-the-scenes details of her relationships, family, friendships, iconic films, and tenure as the CEO of Goop.”
