India is becoming an iPhone nation

India is becoming an iPhone nation and that will help their economy.
Apple has tripled production of its iPhones out of India to $7 billion in the last fiscal year, with almost 7% of the devices now produced in the country, reports Bloomberg, citing anonymous sources. Following issues with its supply chain in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou last year, which pushed the tech giant to cut output targets, Apple has slowly moved away from relying heavily on China for its iPhone production. In a first, the company will reportedly produce the devices out of both countries this year. It could produce a quarter of all its iPhones in India by 2025, according to Bloomberg.
Apple exported $5 billion of iPhones in the last fiscal year — nearly four times as much as the previous period, per the report. In 2021, India accounted for just 1% of the world’s iPhones.
