Cole needed to pull over. The venue stated that the "No Role Modelz" rapper, whose real name is Jermaine Lamarr Cole, had to postpone his August 27 visit in Sacramento, California, due to a crew member's death in a highway collision.
"Following the tragic passing of a member of the touring crew in a trucking accident this morning, J. Cole's show," the August 27 Facebook post from Golden 1 Center started, "has been canceled."
The message went on, "Our thoughts are with the crew member's family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time."

For supporters who intend to attend the 29th date of his international tour, the venue also provided more details.
"Guests who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will be refunded automatically," the declaration concluded. "Remaining guests may seek refunds at their original point of purchase."
The California Highway Patrol and Cole's representatives have been contacted by news organizations for comment, but they have not yet received a response.
Before the semi-truck crashed about 20 miles northwest of the state capital, Cole's representative acknowledged to CBS News Sacramento that their driver had been transporting equipment for the event from Seattle, where the Grammy winner had played on August 25.
Online California Highway Patrol traffic data examined by media outlets show that the 18-wheeler "rolled over" on the northbound I-5 at around 6 a.m. local time. Within fifteen minutes of the police' arrival, the lone occupant was evacuated from the area.
Additionally, 50 liters of fuel escaped, although it was eventually controlled, according to the records. After more than four hours, all highway lanes were reopened.
The driver, identified as Jarlath Parkinson, 66, strayed into the right shoulder of the highway before trying to get back on the road, according to CHP Sgt. David Barker, who spoke to the CBS local site. The truck had toppled when he lost control.
Officials are still figuring out how the event happened, Barker continued.
"It's unknown at this time, may have been a distraction or fell asleep," he went on to say. "Unfortunately, the solo occupant did not survive the crash."
