Ja Rule is about to become a grandfather, as his daughter Brittney Aitken is expecting her first baby with her husband, Tevin Aitken.

When Ja Rule (real name Jeffrey Bruce Atkins) appeared on Sherri Shepherd's talk program on October 16, he said, "I am about to be a grandfather," joking that his new family title "does not even sound right."
The 49-year-old then revealed how Brittney broke the good news to him and his wife, Aisha Atkins, with whom he also has two sons, Jordan Atkins, 20, and Jeffrey Atkins Jr., 25, in a "very cute" way.

“She put the sonogram in a box and a card that said, ‘You are now a grandma and grandfather,’” he clarified. “She said, ‘I got a gift for you guys.’ And we thought it was a real gift—I mean that is a real gift, don’t get me wrong! But we go and open it up, and she has the camera on me to see me and my wife’s expressions. It was an amazing moment.”
The Fyre Festival co-founder has already chosen his new moniker, "Big Poppa," in reference to the late Notorious B.I.G.'s famous 1994 single of the same name, as he gets set to become a grandfather.
This heartwarming announcement follows months after Brittney and Tevin's March wedding, which was modeled after The Great Gatsby. The couple's private ceremony was held at the Villa Barone Hilltop Manor in New York during the time of their engagement in September 2023. In keeping with the concept of their union, Brittney donned a gorgeous white gown and a flapper-style headdress made of pearls.
“It is definitely a dream come true to be able to marry your best friend, someone not to just love but laugh and grow old with,” that month, Brittney informed People. “We honestly just wanted to make sure the room was full of love to see us showcase ours.”
She is certain that she has discovered the love of her life, after all.
“[We] always make sure we see eye to eye in the end, even if that means to agree to disagree,” she went on. “We admire both of each other's passion and light in different things; we add to each other and teach each other new things all the time.”
