For the first time, Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter is talking about her near-death experience. Maddie Watson talked about the terrifying event eight years after she was momentarily submerged when the ATV she was operating collided with a pond on her family's Louisiana farm.
In an Aug. 12 YouTube video discussing her childhood injuries and illnesses, Maddie described herself as "injury-prone," adding, "I did have an accident."

She went on, "I was in a coma and I came back to life, and I’m very blessed."
The 17-year-old went on to say that she received "treatments all the time" and was "in and out of the hospital" as a child because of a number of health issues.
"I was very sick when I was really little," she revealed. "I had bad asthma."
Nevertheless, Maddie persisted through everything. Shortly after Maddie's video, Jamie Lynn, who is friends with her ex-boyfriend Casey Aldridge, wrote on Instagram, "You can work so hard, and do everything right, yet still face adversity, no matter what path you’re on in life."
"You can’t control everything that happens to you, but you can decide how you react to what happens to you," the former Zoey 101 star wrote. "I’m so proud of this kid, she never lets anything or anyone sit her down, and sharing her journey through it all hopefully inspires others to never stop going hard for what they want out of life."
Because of this, Jamie Lynn, who is also the mother of her 7-year-old daughter Ivey Watson, and her husband Jamie Watson now declare every February 5th to be her "Miracle Anniversary."
"Every year that passes and I watch my daughter grow up, the more I realize how very blessed we are, and never want to take that for granted," in 2024, the 34-year-old posted on Instagram. "Again, thank you to all the healthcare professionals who made the life saving decisions, and thank you to each and every person who prayed for our baby girl."
