Katy Perry Rocks Astronaut Mask to Go Incognito at the 2026 Met Gala.

At the 2026 Met Gala, Katy Perry had an otherworldly, unearthly appearance. As she approached the steps of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art for the "Costume Art"-themed gala on May 4, the "E.T." singer was leaning into her astronaut vibes.
Katy chose a white, strapless Stella McCartney gown with a long train and white, elbow-length gloves for the evening's "Fashion Is Art" dress code.
For the event, which was co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour, the 41-year-old wore a white and silver mask like an astronaut's helmet, making it nearly hard to identify her.
Given that Katy, Gayle King, and Lauren Sánchez Bezos were all there at the dinner after participating in Blue Origin's space flight the previous year, it felt especially fitting.
On May 3, Katy wrote on X, "Should I go to #TheMet?" hinting at her attendance at the Costume Institute gala.
The singer of "Teenage Dreams" then shared a video of herself giving the middle finger while wearing gloves on TikTok to her song "The One That Got Away," giving fans a preview of her appearance.

Katy, who has a five-year-old daughter named Daisy with her ex-boyfriend Orlando Bloom, is well-known for her daring fashion choices at the Met Gala. In 2018, she wore angel wings for "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination," and in 2019, she gave fans a double dose of style by donning a full chandelier dress on the Met steps before changing into a cheeseburger costume inside.
The Grammy nominee co-chaired the 2017 Met Gala, which had a "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between" theme. She wore a custom John Galliano red coat over a tulle and chiffon gown.
As Katy reflected on her appearance in 2023 and told Vogue, "I felt like I belonged in fashion, finally," the evening was very memorable for her.
