Melanie Lynskey Sets the Record Straight on Her Two and a Half Men Earnings Following Holland Taylor's Pay Revelation.

Melanie Lynskey is attempting to profit from the speculations. After a fan claimed she was paid $200,000 per episode for her appearances on the CBS sitcom from 2003 to 2015, the Two and a Half Men actor corrected the record.
"Hey! Sorry, but this insane number is floating around on the internet, and I must tell you how wrong it is," on October 25, she responded to a user on Instagram. "I made literally one tenth of that stated number per episode."
In addition to dispelling the two and a half lies by disclosing that she earned $20,000 per episode, Lynskey mentioned that she was given a five percent rise every season for her role as Rose, the neighbor of Alan (Jon Cryer) and Charlie (Charlie Sheen).
"But more than half of the episodes I did were in the first two seasons," she revealed. "The highest paycheck I got on the show was I think $43,000 for one episode in the final season. This is before agents, managers, business managers cuts, and taxes, so you take home around 50% of what you are paid."
The 49-year-old observed, "There is this insane idea that I made millions of dollars and it’s so ridiculous."
When Lynskey started at age 25, she believed the effort was worthwhile even though she wasn't making as much money as fans believed.
"I was extremely grateful for the job and for the money," she clarified. "It allowed me to pay my small mortgage and pay bills and be able to work in indie movies and build a career."
She continued, describing the salary as "huge" for her at that point in time, "I always think in terms of how lucky I am compared to the vast majority of actors because it is so, so hard to make a living. I had struggled so much at that point, so I was very grateful."
The Yellowjackets actress, who wed actor Jason Ritter in 2020, denied harboring any animosity toward Sheen and Cryer for earning more money than she did.
"It wasn’t my show and I felt fine with what I was paid," she observed. "I just get annoyed when it’s misreported."
Lynskey was prompted to speak out after co-star Holland Taylor recently said low pay was one reason she. Taylor played Evelyn, Charlie and Alan's mother.
"They never paid me very well on that show. I was paid on that show what I had made on a series like eight years before or something," Taylor stated on the episode of Alchemy with Anthony Mason that aired on October 21. “And I got four Emmy nominations, and they never gave me a raise. They usually do.”

"If Holland's talking about it, I'll talk about it too," Lynskey said. "Also, Holland is and was a legend and a queen and deserved many raises!!!!"
