Meta Normalizes Use of AI Agents During Coding Interviews

Another stable state: Another stable state: "Meta has officially begun testing a radical shift in its recruitment process by allowing job applicants to use AI assistants during technical interviews — a move that breaks with Big Tech tradition and signals what may be the next frontier in AI-integrated hiring."
That some people think that this should not be part of future is unfortunate. If you are being interviewed for a chip design job in America at the analog design domain, you would be asked questions on your proficiency in the use of Cadence which is the world's leading CAD for designing analog and mixed signal integrated circuits.
But when it comes to software, AI agents are the new platforms. So, why should it be a bad thing if a coder is being tested on the tool which Meta will give him or her at work? Period: using AI agents during coding interviews should not be a bad thing provided they're disclosed because those coders will use agents at work, as "co-workers". Companies should interview coders on the assumption that they’re using agents and will use agents when employed.
