Nigeria Needs ALL to Build Nigeria
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on September 29, 2018, 9:04 AMForget the picture, Aisha Alhassan (Mama Taraba) is not smiling. They took care of her few hours ago (unfortunately) when her party disqualified her for the governorship race. She had since resigned from APC. Of course unlike others, PDP may be hotter since the incumbent is coming back "unopposed" within the party.
But that is not the main thing: how can a woman, the only one with chance to become a governor be disqualified? Nigeria is losing many things. I walk into events and 100% are men. In farming cooperatives in Nigeria, 98% are controlled by men even though women do the real farming.
I know Aisha had an own goal but if she had been a man, they would have given her a chance to kick a penalty for redemption.
We cannot rise if we keep out 50% of our citizens out of the main game. From banking to religion, politics to everything, Nigeria is not pulling ALL citizens along.
