Too quickly, a light was darkened. According to his brother Rhodri Davies, Owain Rhys Davies, a Welsh actor who starred in Twin Peaks among other on-screen and stage appearances, passed away at the age of 44.

Rhodri stated in his article from May 30 that his brother's passing has been "a great shock." “While there are still questions that remain unanswered regarding the circumstances of his death, our understanding at this stage is that Owain passed suddenly, naturally, and peacefully.”

“The reach of Owain’s love, friendship, and generosity was vast,” the statement went on. “The outpouring of messages we have received over the past few days has been deeply moving and a testament to the impact he had on so many lives.”

Rhodri continued by describing the close relationships Owain formed with his loved ones, acquaintances, and coworkers, pointing out that the actor was also a "brother to so many others." Additionally, he pledged to provide more details regarding Owain's death as soon as the family got greater insight.

“We know that this loss will be felt by a great many people, and we take comfort in knowing how loved he was,” Rhodri came to a conclusion. “In the meantime, we kindly ask for some privacy as we come to terms with this devastating loss and support one another through the days ahead.”

During his professional life, Owain was cast in both on-screen and on-stage productions, such as The OA on Netflix, Alice Through the Looking Glass in 2016, and A Serial Killer's Guide to Life in 2019.

In addition to his work on stage, which included shows at London's West End and The Royal National Theater, Owain's most well-known performance was perhaps as Agent Wilson in David Lynch's 2017 Twin Peaks remake.

A photo of Owain with the renowned filmmaker, thanking him for his effort on the project, was pinned on his Instagram profile.

“What a wondrously beautiful thrill ride it was working with this legend,” Owain wrote a comment for his photo with David from September 2017. “Being welcomed in by the @twinpeaks family of cast and crew was truly an honour and can't thank them enough for allowing me to be apart of this cinematic masterpiece.”

The Welsh National Theater wrote a heartfelt memorial to Owain after his untimely death.

“Owain was a remarkable talent whose work enriched Welsh theatre and screen,” a statement posted on Instagram stated, “and whose contribution to the performing arts will be remembered by audiences, colleagues, and friends alike. His passion, creativity, and dedication to his craft made a lasting impact on the cultural life of Wales.”

“The Welsh performing arts community is poorer for his loss,” the theater added, “and we can only imagine the many more stories he would have gone on to tell.”
