One major excursion across the water will live in Pete Davidson's memory forever. The former cast member of Saturday Night Live, who and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt welcomed a 1-month-old daughter named Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson in December, disclosed the importance of the baby's name.

In fact, the moniker has a second unique meaning in addition to being a poignant tribute to Pete's late father, Scott Davidson, a New York City firefighter who passed away while responding to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. "She was conceived in Scotland," the 32-year-old stated in an interview with Elite Daily that was released on January 27.

Elsie, 29, said that she and Pete, who announced their romance in March, "went through so many different names," but the model called their choice "an early favorite."

“We always knew that was the one we were going to come back to, because it was the most meaningful,” she informed the outlet. “It's also so cute.”

Elsie is particularly fond of Scottie's flowery middle name because it carries on a lovely family custom.

“My middle name is Rose, and both of my sisters’ middle names are also Rose, because my mom’s maiden name had Rose in it,” the new mother gave an explanation. “So, I wanted to have a little special part of them in her name, too.”

When Elsie announced Scottie's arrival last month, she said she was immediately enamored with her child and referred to her as "our perfect angel girl."

“My best work yet,” at the moment, she posted a message on Instagram with multiple pictures of her child. “I am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief.”

Additionally, Pete has already seen one improvement in himself in the weeks since becoming a father.

“I’ve always had anxiety about people pleasing and wanting to be the best at everything,” Elite Daily was informed by him. “But now I’m like, ‘If I could do that, that’d be cool. But if not, I get to hang out with [Scottie].’”
