Rod Stewart Opens Up About “F---ing Awful” Illness That Forced Him to Cancel Vegas Shows.

Do you believe Rod Stewart is prepared to return to the stage? He will. The "Maggie May" singer gave an explanation for the cancellation of two gigs of his Las Vegas engagement at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace just hours before his show, almost a week later.

"Before we go any further, last week I passed on two shows and I'll tell you why," in a video posted by media outlets, Rod addressed the crowd during his June 2 performance. "I had this awful f--king sinus infection. I should've gone to the hospital but I didn't."

He disclosed that his ears and eardrums became infected as a result of not being checked out.

"I couldn't hear a thing," he acknowledged it.. "When you've got your ears blocked up, it ruins your equilibrium."

The 81-year-old stressed that he is recovering, but he cautioned, "I might stumble a bit tonight." He is scheduled to appear from May 27 to June 6 and again from August 18 to 29 for the Rod Stewart: The Encore Shows residency.

Rod was cheerful upon his return, even if he was still recovering.

"I'm here with a good voice," he underlined.. "Enjoy yourselves!"

In a statement to the Las Vegas Review, a representative for the singer of "Don't Ya Think I'm Sexy?" declared that he will not be appearing on May 29 or 30 due to "doctor's advice."

Rod, for himself, conveyed his dissatisfaction with the required cancelation.

"My apologies to my family of fans," he continued the statement. "I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer."

However, Rod has demonstrated that he is not interested in setting down the microphone just yet. He revealed his career's destiny when fans conjectured that he would retire in 2023.

"I'd like to clear up any confusion that I may have caused with my dear fans and the media," in June of that year, he posted on Instagram. "I shall never retire! I was put on this earth to be a singer and will keep doing so for as long as the good Lord lets me."
