Ruby Franke, a popular YouTuber and podcaster, was arrested and charged with six counts of aggravated child abuse last week, along with her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt. The charges stem from a report of an "emaciated and malnourished" child with "open wounds and duct tape around the extremities" who climbed out of a window at Hildebrandt's home and asked for food and water. Another child in a similar condition was found inside the home, and four minors were placed into the care of the Department of Child and Family Services.

Ruby Franke's husband, Kevin Franke, who shares six children with her, has denied any involvement or knowledge of the alleged abuse. His lawyer, Randy S. Kester, told "Good Morning America" that Kevin is a "very gentle guy" and a "good person" who "just wants to do what's best for his kids and get them back". Kester also said that Kevin and Ruby have been living separately for the last 13 months.

Kevin Franke has not been charged with any crime, and no allegations of physical abuse have been made against him. His lawyer said he is "distraught" by the situation and hopes to keep his children together under his "fatherly care". Ruby Franke's lawyer has declined to comment on the case. Ruby Franke is scheduled to make a court appearance on Friday.
