The first trailer for the Harry Potter TV series has been released, revealing the premiere date and giving a full glimpse of the enchanting cast

HBO assures us that it is working on something positive. In fact, on March 25, the network unveiled the first teaser trailer for the new Harry Potter television series, which will premiere around Christmas 2026. Alastair Stout, Arabella Stanton, and Dominic McLaughlin, who play the main trio of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley, respectively, were also shown to viewers for the first time.

Aunt Petunia (Bel Powley) tells Harry, cutting his hair and making him reside in the cupboard beneath the stairs, "You are a normal boy, and you are going to start acting like one." “You think you’re something special? There is nothing special about you.”

So, while Harry obtains his letter to enroll at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, we witness him meet Ron, Hermione, and Hagrid (Nick Frost) on his journey to realizing that he is, in fact, quite unique.

Wandmaster Garrick Ollivander (Anton Lesser) gives Harry his first wand and says, "I think we can expect great things from you." "Let's see who you are."

The trailer also provided a brief glimpse of some of the other key characters in the Wizarding World, including Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and John Lithgow as Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore.

Daniel Radcliffe, the original Boy Who Lived, pleaded with fans not to compare the new cast to himself and co-stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint before to the release of the first footage of the television series.

“When these kids got cast, there was a huge thing on the internet around the world of people being like, ‘We’ve got to look out for these kids,’” in February, Daniel informed ScreenRant. “But if everyone really means that, one of the things you can do for me is not ask about me, Emma and Rupert all the time.”

As he stressed, “I would like [for us] to not be weird spectral phantoms in these children’s lives and just let them get on with it, because this is going to be a new thing. It’s going to be a different thing.”

Actually, the star of The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins believes that the new Harry will surpass his own performance in the J.K. Rowling movie series.

“I’m sure Dominic is going to be better than me,” he said. “I look back at what I did now with a lot more kindness and I find it less embarrassing now that I’m older. I was very much learning how to do it for a long time.”
