The Nigeria Court of the Internet
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on December 25, 2017, 5:38 PM
Nigerian government may plan to have a court dedicated for digital commerce and lifestyle. Call it Nigeria Court of the Internet. The plan will be to accept all filings electronically and handle only online disputes. These disputed issues will include purchases, returns, copyrights, and defamation. People can attend through digital means like skype and Facetime.
Of course, a major challenge will be digitally verifying the people, since the nation does not have a good national identity database that is fully operational. But I do think planning for such as internet businesses blossom will be important. Possibly, this can help the traditional court stay focused on some other bigger and more urgent issues.
