Travis Decker Manhunt: Authorities Reveal Fresh Evidence in Daughters’ Murder Case.

Additional details about Travis Decker's case are being released by authorities. More than two months after the bodies of his and ex-wife Whitney Decker's daughters Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5, were found at a Leavenworth, Washington, campground, police have connected the patriarch's DNA to the plastic bags used to kill the girls. The Medical Examiner's autopsies revealed that the girls' causes of death were suffocation.

“Two of the victims each had two separate bags over their heads and the third victim had three separate bags over their head,” In a press release sent to Facebook on August 19, the Chelan County Sheriff's Office stated. “In addition, several cable ties were located on the ground in the immediate area of the bodies. These plastic bags and cable ties were collected that night by the Washington State Patrol Crime Response Team.”

Authorities stated that they think Travis, who is wanted on first-degree murder and kidnapping charges, is the “only suspect involved in committing these homicides.” after sending this evidence for DNA analysis.

“On August 6, 2025, the Washington State Crime Lab reported DNA profiles matching Travis Decker were found on the plastic bags that were covering each of his daughter’s heads,” the release went on. “DNA profiles matching Paityn, Evelyn and Olivia Decker were also located on the plastic bags. No other DNA profiles were obtained from the plastic bags.”

The police agency also mentioned the cable ties that were discovered at the scene. “One DNA profile was obtained from the cable ties collected at the scene. That DNA sample matched the profile for Travis Decker. No other DNA profiles were obtained from the cable ties.”

The hunt for the army veteran is still ongoing, according to the sheriff's office, which has previously characterized Travis, 32, as "well versed in wilderness survival and capable of spending days or even weeks in the wilderness on his own and with very little equipment,”

“Decker’s whereabouts remain unknown,” the statement stated. “At this time, we do not have any evidence to suggest Travis Decker is either alive or deceased.”
