Trump Saves TikTok, Temporarily
Trump has already started leading, and many young people will remember the day their TikTok went off, and then returned, because of one man: 'TikTok has restored its services in the U.S., granting users access to the platform, following a statement by President-elect Donald Trump, to sign an executive order on Monday to delay the ban on the app. In a statement on X, TikTok confirmed its efforts to reinstate service in the U.S. The company wrote,
“In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties for providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive.'
Yet, an executive order will not save TikTok in perpetuity since the divest-or-ban is the law of the land. Nonetheless, TikTok will be happy to have another day to fight to stay alive.
