Walmart looks for Walmart+ To Catch Amazon Prime

Walmart looks for Walmart+ to catch up with Amazon Prime. I am not sure that is a possibility. With the tech elements Amazon has unleashed, Walmart may not know that Amazon is not just a retailer but a leading tech company.  Having a membership plan is one thing, pushing the latest tech is another game. Yet, Walmart+ will give Amazon a pulse to freeze its endless increments. If that happens, that is a good thing for users.

Walmart is squaring up against Amazon Prime with the launch of its own membership program called Walmart+ in July, ReCode reports, citing anonymous sources. The world’s largest retailer has not released details on the new subscription service, but sources say it will cost $98 a year and will offer perks such as same-day delivery, fuel discounts and early access to product deals. Walmart has struggled to keep up with Amazon’s online dominance for years and as the pandemic fuels a surge in e-commerce, the big-box retailer looks like it’s preparing to fight back.
