Why Grayson, the son of Todd and Julie Chrisley, slept in their room after being released from prison.

Grayson Chrisley's heartfelt reaction to his parents’ return home is a powerful glimpse into how deeply their absence affected the family. After Todd and Julie Chrisley were released from prison—thanks to a presidential pardon from Donald Trump, 19-year-old Grayson asked if he could sleep in their room. According to Todd, Grayson simply said, “Can I sleep with you tonight?” to which he replied, “You can.”

During a joint family interview on My View with Lara Trump on June 24/28, Todd recounted, "He walked in, and he said, 'Can I sleep with you tonight?'" "I said, 'You can.'"

"Being together is really the best part," he clarified. "I mean, when they are home, you take those times for granted, but when you realize one day it could be there and the next day it isn't, it means a little bit more."

Throughout his parents’ incarceration, Grayson leaned heavily on his older sister Savannah, who had been his emotional anchor—and a tireless advocate for their release. In his words, the reunion was not just healing but also a reminder of how strong their familial bonds remained despite everything.

Savannah, 27, revealed, "Grayson has always said, 'I have two moms,' because we are nine years apart." “And so, we've always been attached to the hip. And he's taught me more than any person in the world ever could the past two and a half years."

She went on to say, "Going through this together has been such a whirlwind. He thought I saved him when in reality he saved me."

Additionally, Chloe Chrisley, the youngest daughter of Todd and Julie, who is the biological daughter of Todd's son Kyle Chrisley and whom the reality star shares with her ex-girlfriend Teresa Terry, reacted similarly to her parents' eagerly anticipated return.

During a May 28 broadcast of On Balance, Savannah stated to NewsNation's Leland Vittert, "I think Chloe is still in shock." “She doesn't want to get her hopes up, because she feels like something bad is going to is going to happen. But I'm excited to be going to get my dad and bringing him home to her. We're excited.”

At the moment, Kyle, 33, also mentioned how happy he was to see his parents again while making sure to acknowledge Savannah's diligence.

Last month, he declared, "I am ecstatic." "Truly, I just found out a little bit ago, and I still cannot believe it."

He went on to say, "I know Savannah had been working at this for so long and she never gave up." "For making this happen for my dad and Julie, I am grateful to her and President Trump."

It’s a pretty raw example of how trauma, especially involving sudden separation from parents, can linger—regardless of age. Grayson’s instinct to stay close wasn’t about comfort alone—it was about safety, connection, and a longing for normalcy.
