YouTuber Markiplier ties the knot with Amy Nelson after a decade of dating.
One of their favorite power couples is being celebrated on the internet. Known for his "Let us Play" videos of independent horror games, YouTuber Markiplier revealed that he and his long-term partner Amy Nelson were married on September 20. The couple waited a few weeks before making the announcement public.
On October 7, Markiplier, whose real name is Mark Fischbach, shared on Instagram, "10 years and counting." “Going to go for the world record or die trying.”
In addition, Amy paid a touching homage to her new husband on Instagram on October 7, writing, "The whole point is never clearer than when I am with you."

Amy shared multiple photos of the 31-year-old wearing a bell-sleeved wedding gown with a lace pattern and a bow in the back, giving the couple's admirers a sneak peak at their wedding. Wearing a white tuxedo jacket over a white shirt and black slacks, Markiplier, the 16th highest paid content creator by Forbes, also looked sharp for the special occasion. The 36-year-old accessorized his ensemble with a boutonnière and a crimson bowtie.
Also, fans were ecstatic for Amy and Markiplier, who have nearly 38 million YouTube subscribers and have been producing material since 2012.
“Markiplier getting married oh the world is healing,” in the comments, one fan wrote. Another enthusiastically went on, “BEEN HERE SINCE 2014 AND NOW I’M SEEING YOU GET MARRIED?? HOLY HELL CONGRATS!!”
One individual even wrote that the news caused her to become tearful. “Didn’t think 20-year-old me would be openly weeping about Markiplier just like 12-year-old me used to but here we are. I’m so happy such a power couple.”
Additionally, as one fan put it, “MOM AND DAD GOT MARRIED!?!?!?!”
When Markiplier returned to his hometown of Cincinnati, where Amy is from, he and Amy first connected on Tinder.
“We met, but we didn’t start dating there,” he clarified in a 2022 Impaulsive Podcast episode, adding that the two eventually got back in touch while she was in Los Angeles. “She was out here during a time when I was having a bad year and so that’s how we met.”
Since Amy is constantly there to help him in any way she can, such as with his 2019 interactive film A Heist with Markiplier, the Internet celebrity has been incredibly appreciative of her presence in his life.
“The secret recipe was actually my girlfriend Amy,” at the moment, he raved on Late Night With Seth Meyers. “She was behind the camera watching every single shot, making sure it was good. I trusted her.” He went on, “I’m very lucky to have her.”
