Zach Braff is cleaning up a ridiculous rumor. After being connected to internet rumors about an unidentified actor purportedly dating a virtual assistant, the Scrubs star said he is not in a relationship with an AI robot.
“I'm not dating a chatbot,” in an Instagram Stories post on March 12, he stated. “I can't believe I have to type these words.”
The 50-year-old continued by speculating that the rumor might have been related to the ABC medical sitcom's recent relaunch.
“It is a storyline in an upcoming ep of Scrubs,” he added. “Maybe it came from that? Not sure. But not me. Love, the guy not dating his chatbot.”
"Please update all gossip sites," Zach, who dated Florence Pugh from 2019 to 2022 stated.
The popular actor from Garden State posted the message along with a screenshot of comedian Max Silvestri from a recent episode of his podcast, I Need You Guys, which he co-hosts with Jenny Slate and Gabe Liedman. In a later Instagram Stories post, he speculated that the three of them, along with guest Kumail Nanjiani, "were the origin of" the rumor.
In fact, Max stated in a December podcast episode that there had been a “well-known actor who is currently in a romantic relationship with his AI chatbot,” stating that the unidentified star “brings the chatbot with him places and talks to the chatbot.”

However, Max stated soon after Zach's social media statements that he never connected the chatbot myth to the TV star.
“Have never mentioned this man's name in my life,” on March 13, he posted on his personal Instagram Stories. “Aren't there more important stories in the world right now?”
Zach, however, might not be using AI to find love.
