Zach Galifianakis has always been private about his family life, and he recently shared why he keeps his wife, Quinn Lundberg, and their two children away from Hollywood. He explained that he has never wanted his real life and show business to mix, stating, "This is my work, and that's why they're not here".
Zach Galifianakis who is married to Quinn Lundberg, a Canadian businesswoman and philanthropist. The couple tied the knot in 2012 and have two children together. Quinn is known for her work in nonprofit organizations, including co-founding Growing Voices, which supported grassroots community development.
She also co-founded LOOM In 2016, she and Erica Chidi Cohen, an educational platform focused on reproductive and parenting health. Despite her husband's Hollywood fame, she prefers to keep a low profile and focus on her advocacy work.
“I keep show business away from my family,” Zach told People in an article published May 21. “I've never wanted my real life and show business to combine. This is my work, and that's why they're not here."
In the past, he even told his kids that he worked as a librarian to keep them unaware of his Hollywood career. Now that they are older, they understand his profession, but he still maintains a healthy distance between his family and the spotlight. Despite this, he did bring them along to Hawaii while filming Disney's live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch, calling it a "dream situation", live action remake as Jumba. Partly because he was pals with Dean Fleischer Camp, the filmmaker of Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.
“I said that when they were younger because I didn't want them to know anything," he explained. “But now they're older, they know that I'm down here promoting this.”
“They'll see it," he said. “Yeah, we'll take them to the movie theater to see it in time. But we live pretty remotely, so I don't know if it's even going to be playing where we live.”
The Hangover star's infrequent remarks on his family follow his revelation that, when he was a toddler, his older son saw a billboard of Zach in person while his family was still residing in Hollywood.
“We were driving in my car,” Zach clarified when he appeared on Conan O'Brien's late-night show in 2016. “There was a bus with my face on it and my son said, ‘Look, Daddy’ and I didn’t know what to say because I hadn’t really thought about it. He goes, ‘Who’s that?’ and I don’t know why I said, ‘Oh some idiot.’”
He made a joke, “He thinks his dad is a professional idiot."
"At 55 and working as an actor for a while, you don't know if you can sustain this," He explains his decision to join the cast of the film. "But Dean and I have known each other for years, and he called me, and I had a lot of confidence in him as a director. I don't think he is capable of making anything that's not really good."
