Ndubuisi Ekekwe To Keynote 2024 Johns Hopkins University Africa Business Conference

Good People, I am honoured to announce that I will deliver the keynote speech of the 2024 Johns Hopkins University Africa Business Conference, under the theme of Africa’s Renaissance. I will speak on excellence and the pursuit of growth for the rise of ALL in the beautiful continent of Africa.

Schools change lives and Johns Hopkins, America’s first research university, is pivotal in my career. My first year project in this University is today the only Intel Corporation’s programmable microprocessor knowledge partner in Africa. And my PhD dissertation was patented by the University and the United States Government later acquired rights to use some components in space. The current dean of Engineering hired me in Carnegie Mellon University as a professor. My American life has been anchored by this school. They turned a grad from Nigeria who knew nothing of transistors into an ace-designer who rose to ADI’s global lead ASIC designer, on iPhone’s generational inertial sensors.

In my presentation, I will explain how a new Africa could emerge through excellence which will ignite growth at scale. We’re in a global cambrian moment of entrepreneurial capitalism where new species of companies are evolving, transforming markets, with implications that will reshape the ordinance of economic systems. As these changes happen, how would trade be redesigned?

What could AI (artificial intelligence) do for Africa’s future, examining innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable utilization of the factors of production. Of course, I connect education and healthcare since this is Johns Hopkins, where every conversation begins and ends with health, encapsulating the School’s unalloyed passion on improving  human welfare.

Let us meet on April 13 at the home of the world’s finest medical institution for Knowledge, a factor of production, for the liberation of the mind, as enshrined in the University’s motto “Veritas vos liberabit” [The truth will set you free].
