I was watching a blockbuster movie on Netflix the other day and I was shocked to see that in the movie the word “Jesus” is censored and Jesus Christ was also censored. This censorship took place on the subtitle of the movie; if the actor says “Jesus”, on the subtitle it will be written; “J****” and if the actor says Jesus Christ the editors wrote “J*****C*****” as the subtitle.
What caught my attention is that words that have been universally accepted to be vulgar and are always subjected to censorship were not censored in the movie. Words like Fuck, pussy, dick, asshole, butthole, fuck you, vagina etc were written in full and this got me thinking why ain’t these words censored in the movie but the word Jesus and Jesus Christ was censored.
My curiosity made me start researching more on this and I found out that their reason for censoring Jesus or Jesus Christ is that those words are religiously affiliated words and if used in the movie other religions may find it offensive. This is to say that if Jesus or Jesus Christ is said in the movie, a Muslim or Hindu may find it offensive.

This is not just restricted to the Christian faith, words or phrases affiliated to other religions are getting censored as well; words like Allah or Allah Ahkubar” cannot be used on air or written down not just in some movies or in media houses like television or radio stations.
This might sound like a conspiracy theory but I kid you not that there is something going on with Western media and it does not look good. They keep pressing and keep pressing.
In almost every Hollywood movie now made, the producers will intentionally insert a gay couple or a gay character even when a gay has no role in the storyline, they are as well adding children gay characters; this is how they pass down these messages to the rest of the world including Africa.
The fact is words like Jesus or Jesus Christ are no longer religious words and some folks don’t even say them anymore in a religious sense; people use them as go-to filler words and as exclamations. Just like people saying “damn, darn, what the fuck” etc but you are allowed to say the fuck word but you are not allowed to say Jesus Christ so you don’t offend another person? Make it make sense to me.
Who even made these rules? Who made it a rule that the f-word is an offensive and offensive and unprofessional word? You can say “Penis” but cannot say dick, you can say buttocks but cannot say butt, vagina is more professional and less offensive than pussy. How did they come about these rules and how do they become universally accepted?
Well back to the Jesus word censorship; I promise you I’m not making this up either am i offended because I am a Christian, it just got me curious to know what is so offensive about the word Jesus even when it is used as a filler word and not used in a religious sense to warrant it to be censored in a movie. If we all preach tolerance, then why will a person of another religion other than Christianity feel offended when they mention the word?
