The Nigerian government must help in combating fake mobile phones in the country. Nokia flagged off anti-counterfeit campaign drawing many stakeholders into it last year. But for sometime now, nothing seems to be heard about it. The reason why all and sundry should join Nokia is simply based on the fact that fake phones could compromise the m-payment system. Of course, counterfeit of products is not limited to Nokia products, it is all over the ICT sector and even beyond. All kinds of products from pharmaceuticals to electronics are all suffering that scourge. There is a need to step up this fight to keep the ecosystem clean.
