Lights, camera, action for one of the most important pop culture weekends. Fans from far and wide were given a preview of some of the most anticipated movies and television series that will be released in the upcoming months as San Diego Comic-Con got underway on July 24.

Disney had plenty to tease despite Marvel's absence from the renowned Hall H, including Tron: Ares, which stars Jared Leto, Evan Peters, and Greta Lee and is scheduled to premiere on October 10. The film explores an AI advancement program and the threats it poses to the real world ten years after the events of Tron: Legacy. For starters, Jared went "full method" on set, demanding to be called by his character's name, as actor Jeff Bridges demonstrated.

"I didn’t want to offend him as a thespo,” Jeff stated on the panel dated July 25. “But I thought, ‘I wanted to have a certain intimacy with you. I know your name is Ares. Can I just call you Air?’ He said, ‘Yeah man! You can call me whatever you want!’ We had a great time.”

Disney also unveiled the first glimpse of season two of Percy Jackson & the Olympians, which is based on the Sea of Monsters novel from the series, demonstrating that it has no intention of slowing down.

When John Cena took the stage to reveal the trailer for the exciting second season of the HBO Max series, which premieres on August 21, he brought the humor with his Peacemaker costume. In this season, his character Chris Smith will jump from the DCEU realm to an alternate DCU dimension.

The trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's 2 also gave fans a scare. In fact, the sequel, which unveiled what would happen on December 5, featured recognizable names including Elizabeth Lail, Matthew Lillard, and Josh Hutcherson.
