Chrissy Teigen revealed she’s been Sobered for 52 days, following a period when she had started drinking again.

Chrissy Teigen is becoming more sober. The Star Search judge, who gave up alcohol in 2021 before disclosing last year that she had "let it back" into her life, was open about her sobriety struggle, revealing on January 27 that it has been 52 days since her last drink.

"After being sober for a little over a year, I went back to drinking," Chrissy, who is married to John Legend and has four children, started in an Instagram post. "I promised myself it would be in a 'mindful' way. I wanted to be able to have a glass of wine on a date night with my husband. To be able to toast on birthdays."

But according to the 40-year-old, that was her "first problem" because a solitary dinner drink "went from 6pm, to 5, to 4, to aw hell, it’s lunch, why not."

"When it got to 11am, I was like, oh f--k, here we go again," Chrissy remembered. "And god, I felt like s--t."

When she was "in talks" to participate in Star Search, which debuted earlier this month, the author of the Cravings cookbook finally had enough. In her words, "If I were given the incredible chance to be on the show, there was absolutely no f--king way I’d do it with alcohol in my dressing room."

"I think the biggest difference between now and the first time is that there’s no pomp around it," Chrissy talked about her sober comeback. "The first time I put my foot down, it was EXCITING. The momentum was fun and kept me going on the right track. The second time… I dunno."

Comparing her connection to alcohol with "an old boyfriend you talked so much s--t about to your friends, then you get back together with them," she continued, "I dunno if everyone around you kind of loses faith or if you do yourself, or a mix of both."

In any case, the former host of Lip Sync Battle stated that she has "no desire to turn back."

"Turns out, without it, I can still be funny," she continued. "Still be stupid. Still be wildly nervous. Anxious as a motherf--ker. And I can get through it all without it."

Additionally, Chrissy discussed why she doesn't mind discussing the highs and lows of her journey in a recent episode of her Self-Conscious podcast.

"Nothing makes me more proud than somebody sharing their story of sobriety and truly seeing the different look in their eyes," Carl Radke, a visitor who has also been candid about his own battles with addiction, was informed by her. "It's beautiful. It's contagious."
