Ego Nwodim is departing Saturday Night Live after seven successful seasons.

Another of Saturday Night Live's most cherished stars are leaving. After seven seasons, longtime cast member Ego Nwodim revealed she was quitting NBC's renowned late-night sketch show.

"The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight," on September 12, the comedian posted on her Instagram Stories. "But after seven unforgettable seasons, I have decided to leave SNL."

"I am immensely grateful to Lorne [Michaels] for the opportunity, to my castmates, the writers, and the crew for their brilliance, support, and friendship," Nwodim went on. "Week after week on that stage taught me more than I could have ever imagined, and I will carry those memories, and that laughter, with me always."

In typical Nwodim form, the 37-year-old joked, "Now invite me to your weddings please!" as she wrapped up her message.

As part of the significant cast reorganization for season 51, Nwodim is the fifth SNL cast member to recently announce their resignation.

Emil Wakim said last month that he was leaving after just one season.

“It was a gut punch of a call to get but I’m so grateful for my time there," Emil added on Instagram via August 27: “I’m excited for whatever chapter comes next. here’s to making more art without compromise.”

Along with Michael Longfellow and Heidi Gardner, who has been a mainstay on 30 Rock since joining in 2017, Devon Walker also said the show "goodbye".

However, there is now plenty of space for new faces because so many SNL veterans are leaving.

When season 51 opens on October 4, Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Kam Patterson, and Veronika Slowikowska will make their Studio H8 debuts, according to an announcement made by NBC earlier this month.

Which cast members are making a comeback? Bringing the humor back will be Kenan Thompson, Michael Che, Colin Jost, Bowen Yang, Marcello Hernández, Sarah Sherman, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, and James Austin Johnson.
