Gaten Matarazzo from Stranger Things shares a “disgusting” experience he had while living with his co-star Finn Wolfhard.

Gaten Matarazzo has the ability to completely transform his surroundings. The Stranger Things star disclosed that while filming the fifth and final season of the Netflix science fiction series, he and his co-star Finn Wolfhard lived together for around a year. It didn't take long for their shared lodgings to fall apart.
“It was a little bit of a college experience,” on the Dinner's on Me podcast episode from November 18, Gaten revealed this to Jesse Tyler Ferguson. “I would look around three months after we lived together and [be] like, ‘This place is disgusting.’”
The 23-year-old emphasized his close friendship with Finn, 22, but he clarified that their affinity was the exact cause of their cleaning problems.
“We match each other’s energy a little bit,” he went on. “We got along so well and had been so close for so long that we didn’t really hold each other to a standard. So, we were like, ‘Ah, f--k it. Whatever, man. We’ll get to it later.’”
However, both of them received a "wake-up call" over scheduling social events during filming the show's last episodes.
“We would plan to go out, and somebody would be like, ‘Alright, we’ll meet you at yours,’” Gaten remembered. “Both of us would be like, ‘No. Do not come [within] 10 feet [of] our home.’”
Luckily, Gaten and Finn "got better" at keeping their apartment neat "towards the end" of their time there, and more significantly, their friendship held strong.
“When you’re moving in with one of your best friends, you never know if you’re going to live together well,” he clarified. “That could ruin friendships. It ruins a dynamic. If you’re mature enough, you can be like, ‘This isn’t working for us, so for the sake of our friendship, we should end this.’ [But] it was great.”
With a little assistance from their group chat, the young stars of the long-running series—including Gaten, Finn, Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, and Caleb McLaughlin—remain close even though production has ended.
“We’re always just trying to hangout,” earlier this month, Millie disclosed to media reporters. “So, it’s always just us going, ‘When can you? Where are you? Where are you in the world?’”
Netflix is currently streaming the first 4 episodes of Stranger Things season five. Three more episodes will be released on December 25, and the series finale will debut on December 31.
