How Kate Hudson Adopted the "Long Game" Approach to Navigating Her Blended Family Dynamics.

Kate Hudson has been intentional about creating a strong, unified family dynamic despite having three children with three different fathers. She recently shared that she made conscious decisions to prioritize her kids over career opportunities that would take her away for too long. She emphasized the importance of maintaining "one unit" while raising her children Ryder, Bingham, and Rani.

"I have three kids, and I have three different dads, and all of them tour, and I made a very conscious decision to do things that didn't take me away from my kids for too long, on top of trying to diversify," according to People, Kate, 46, stated during the Newport Beach TV Fest on June 5. "I like to play the long game and just do different things, so for me it was like I wasn't getting the roles that I wanted to be playing.”

She went on, “The ones that I did, I would make some hard decisions and if it took me away for too long, I just couldn't do it because I had to be with my kids and I wanted to make sure that I was the center of my kids' universe and that we had one unit."

She also spoke about her approach to co-parenting, explaining that while her family structure may not look traditional from the outside, she feels they are thriving. Hudson has worked to ensure that her children feel centered and supported, even as their fathers Chris Robinson, Matt Bellamy, and Danny Fujikawa maintain their own careers.

"It might not look traditional from the outside, but on the inside, I feel like we're killing it," In a 2022 interview, the star of How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days told the Sunday Times. "The unit that I've created with three children with three different fathers is a seriously strong unit, and it's ours."

Even though Kate hardly ever gets to see all three of her kids on television, she is very busy with her cute little daughter Rani. In a May Instagram video, Rani stole the show by hilariously lip-syncing Kate's famous line from her 2002 movie Almost Famous.

"I always tell the girls never take it seriously," In the video, Rani mouthed while wearing a bohemian-chic attire that was exactly like her mother's, who was standing behind her with a glass of wine. "If you never take it seriously you never get hurt, if you never get hurt you always have fun.”

It turns out that Little Rani is not only her mother's stylist but also her mini-me. The singer of "Love Am not Easy" recently acknowledged that her youngest child must approve Kate's red-carpet attire.

“My son is going to be 21 in two days, so I don’t know where he is,” In January, Kate stated to Entertainment Tonight. “My other one is 13, so he’s locked himself in his bedroom. So, it really is Rani, who is picking apart everything and making sure I wore the right necklace.”
