Hunger Games actor Ethan Jamieson has been arrested for assault with intention to kill

A former cast member of Hunger Games is facing legal issues. According to arrest records obtained by news sources, Ethan Jamieson, who played the District 4 male homage in the 2012 version of Suzanne Collins' young adult novel, has been detained and accused of assault.

As per Lieutenant David Davis of the Raleigh Police Department, the former child star was taken into custody in Raleigh, North Carolina, following a police response to a complaint of gunfire on March 22 at approximately 9:52 p.m.

“Upon arrival, officers located the victim, who reported that an unknown suspect riding an e-bike had fired a shot at their vehicle while they were driving,” he continued. “Two additional occupants were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.”

Jamieson, 27, was arrested on March 23 after detectives identified him "as the individual who discharged a single gunshot in the direction of the victims’ vehicle."

As per information pertaining to arrest papers obtained by media outlets from the Wake County Sheriff's Office, Jamieson is charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. The date of his court appearance is April 30.

Jamieson's representative has been contacted by the media for comment, but no response has been received.

According to an arrest report seen by publications, he was previously detained in March 2025 for "resisting a public officer."

Jamieson's acting career began with a 2009 episode of One Tree Hill, followed by an appearance in the 2010 TV children's film The Rusty Bucket Kids: Lincoln, Journey to 16, and a 2013 episode of the television series Justified.

In fact, early in his acting career, Jamieson had talked about retiring. He told LancasterOnline in 2012 that he was unsure about pursuing a career in acting full-time after starring in The Hunger Games, saying, "I want to be just a normal person."

Additionally, he was unprepared for the success of the Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth-starring Hunger Games franchise. He was shocked that so many people requested his autograph at the screening, saying it was "pretty awesome" to be recognized, despite the fact that his character was slain early in the first movie.

"I knew that the books were popular,” he informed the media outlet, “but I didn't know that the movie was going to be so big.”
