Jane Fonda shares memories of Rob Reiner’s behavior on the last night before he passed away at their Los Angeles home.
The sudden deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, have devastated Jane Fonda. The two-time Oscar winner actually claimed to have only met the longtime couple the day before they were discovered dead at their Los Angeles home on December 14.
"I saw them night before last looking healthy and happy," on December 15, Jane posted on Instagram. "I am reeling with grief. Stunned."
Recalling their mutual love of campaigning, the 87-year-old continued, "Rob and Michele Reiner were wonderful, caring, smart, funny, generous people, always coming up with ideas for how to make the world better, kinder."

On December 13, Conan O'Brien hosted a star-studded Christmas party, which the Reiners attended, according to insiders who spoke with several sites.
According to a news release from the Los Angeles authorities Department, authorities arrived at the Reiners' Brentwood area home the next day at approximately 3:40 p.m. Officers arrived and "discovered two victims, who were subsequently identified as Robert and Michele Reiner."
"As a result of the initial investigation, it was determined that the Reiners were the victims of homicide," according to a press release from the LAPD. "The investigation further revealed that Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Robert and Michele Reiner, was responsible for their deaths."
As to a source who spoke to NBC News, Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, looked to have been stabbed.
According to the LAPD, Nick was taken into custody and charged with murder. Authorities have recently verified that the screenwriter is being detained without bond, despite the fact that his online jail records initially said bail was set at $4 million.
Jake Reiner, 34, and Romy Reiner, 27, Rob and Michele's other children, have been contacted by news organizations for comment on Nick's arrest, but they have not responded. But soon after Rob and Michele passed away, the family told Variety in a statement, "We are heartbroken by this sudden loss."
Following the incident, Tracy Reiner, the child of Rob's late ex-wife Penny Marshall, also expressed shock, telling NBC News that she had met her father the day before he was found dead.
“I came from the greatest family ever,” in a statement on December 14, she informed NBC News. “I don’t know what to say. I’m in shock.”
