When Jennifer Lawrence joined Instagram, the chances weren't in her favor. In the description of her recently created @jlaw profile, the Hunger Games alum joked that "jenniferlawrence was taken."
Additionally, Lawrence has more than 386,000 followers even though she hasn't shared a single grid post yet.
In fact, the 36-year-old didn't have a public social media account for more than ten years. In 2014, she stated on BBC 1 Radio, "I'm not very good on [the] phone or technology."

"I cannot really keep up with emails, so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me," at that moment, she added. "I don't really understand what it is. It's like this weird enigma that people talk about. It's fine. I respect that."
However, this does not imply that the Oscar winner is totally disconnected from the media.
"I’m on it. But I’m a voyeur: I watch, I don’t speak," according to Time, she revealed this in a 2019 interview with InStyle. "There is always so much backlash. So many people are listening and paying attention, and they have so many opinions about absolutely everything."

From an official account, that is. The Joy actress, who is married to Cooke Maroney and has two small children, does, in fact, have what she refers to as "a secret life on TikTok."
"I get in fights on TikTok," last year, she acknowledged this in an interview with Fandango. "I get in fights in the comment section. One girl was like, 'How old are you? Get a life!'"
Lawrence claims that discussions about the Real Housewives franchise on the internet "started off" her anonymous character.
“And then it got really intense when I started commenting on the royal family," she concluded. "I guess I rage-bait on TikTok."
