Jenny Slatten from 90 Day Fiancé shares a health update following her “overwhelming” ALS diagnosis.
Jenny Slatten is providing additional information about her health. The 90 Day Fiancé actress, who wed Sumit Singh in 2021, provided a brief update just hours after revealing she had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) on May 19.
On Instagram Stories, the TLC actress captioned a selfie of herself and her spouse. “I’m still able to walk around and Sumit is still allowed to smile.”
Jenny, 68, and Sumit, 38, both discussed their decision to hold off on disclosing Jenny's condition to the public.

“At first, we tried to keep it private because it’s been very emotional and overwhelming for us,” on May 19, the two shared a joint Instagram photo. “We were hoping to find some kind of solution before speaking publicly. But after trying for some time, we feel like it’s time to reach out.”
They also expressed gratitude to fans for supporting them through this trying time.
“Thank you so much for all the love and support,” they continued. “Right now, we are open to any kind of help — treatments, clinical trials, lifestyle changes, or anything that could help treat this disease or slow down its progression.”
One year after she started having symptoms, in December of last year, Jenny received a diagnosis of ALS, also referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease.
After Jenny choked "badly" on water, the pair realized something wasn't right, Sumit informed People in an article that was published on May 19. The reality star soon experienced slurred speech after realizing she had difficulty taking medicines.
Jenny's dad passed away from ALS ten years ago, and the couple told the publication that after Jenny came to New York City for a 90 Day Fiancé holiday party, fans spotted her concerning symptoms and urged she get examined for the disease.
Following their return to India, Jenny saw multiple neurologists in order to obtain a formal diagnosis.
At first, medical professionals thought Jenny had "a little clot" in her brain. However, a second opinion verified that she actually had the neurological illness.
Jenny described how she and Sumit were "scared" when they discovered the diagnosis, saying, "We cried and held each other."
What is Jenny's course of treatment for symptom management?
“Right now we're just looking and searching,” Jenny clarified and added that she hopes by telling her story, “maybe somebody will come forward with something” that could help her.
She is taking each day as it comes, even though she anticipates that the diagnosis will alter the trajectory of her life.
"I don't want to be treated any different,” Jenny stated. “Let's just live our life as we have been while we can.”
