John Legend shared a glimpse into his family life with his wife of 12 years, Chrissy Teigen, and their four kids.

Despite their boisterous behavior, John Legend adores his entire family. The "All of Me" singer reportedly stated that he and his spouse, Chrissy Teigen, truly value the "chaos" that their four children—Luna, 9, Miles, 7, Esti, 2, and Wren, 2—bring into the house.

"Having all that energy, love and laughter in the house is beautiful," he made the exclusive announcement on September 18 at the Black Music Action Coalition Gala in Los Angeles. "Everybody's walking. Everybody's talking."

But it is beneficial when his older kids may also let off steam at school.

"We're fortunate that three of them are now at the same school, so it makes drop-off and pick-up a little easier," the 46-year-old made a joke. "It's chaotic, but it's a nice kind of chaos."

John and Chrissy, both 39, have been married for 12 years and have experienced so much that they think they can handle anything together.

"We have four beautiful babies, and we've also had tragedy together," John mentioned the cookbook author's pregnancy loss in 2020 with their son Jack. "It's wonderful to be in a relationship with somebody that you can go through all of that with and have each other's back."

He went on, "We've been through all kinds of things together—the highs and the lows—and as you mature, you grow in yourself."

As their children grow up quickly, John stated that he and Chrissy frequently, "think about how we can live better lives, be better to ourselves and to our loved ones."

"A lot of my music is about making people feel good and spreading love," he clarified, "but I also know that I have a platform to spread light."

He was therefore honored to receive this year's Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award from the Black Music Action Coalition.

"I don't want to waste that opportunity, so I'm going to use it to tell the truth," John also mentioned. "To try to make an impact in this world—just like a lot of the artists I grew up loving and admiring."
