Josh Duhamel reveals he had cataract surgery to achieve "perfect 20/20 vision."

Method acting is not something Josh Duhamel believes in. Josh disclosed that he currently has surgery to repair his own vision, even though his character from London Calling spends a large portion of the next movie denying his deteriorating vision and refusing to get glasses.

“I’ve already had cataract surgery,” Josh made an exclusive announcement during the London Calling launch on September 15. “I’m too young for that. But my vision is perfect now, perfect 20/20 vision.”

The Ransom Canyon star plays Tommy Ward, a hitman who is entrusted with "manning" up his employer's son Julian (Jeremy Ray Taylor) in exchange for safe passage across the pond so he may reunite with his own son. The movie opens in theaters on September 19.

“It's one of those popcorn movies about a hit man who's over the hill,” he described the movie, which was directed by Allan Ungar. “He doesn't quite see or shoot like he used to, shoots the wrong person, ends up having to leave for Los Angeles from London, and the guy he works for—in exchange for me going back to London—makes me take his son out on a hit, and it goes horrible.”

However, Josh stated in the interview that aired on September 16 at 11 p.m. that he had nothing but praise for Jeremy, his costar.

“He's such a talent,” he marveled of the 22-year-old. “He’s a power lifter and he really takes good care of himself. We're like, ‘Dude, you have to be soft and cuddly for this movie.’ And he totally bought in.”

There were benefits to being young on set, after all. “He's a great athlete,” Josh, 52, went on to say. “He's a surprisingly adept at action—way better than I was. I pulled a groin just trying to sprint.”

The actor from Safe Haven, who has a 12-year-old son named Axl with his ex-wife Fergie and a 20-month-old son named Shepherd with his wife Audra Mari, may have chosen a more tranquil lifestyle almost twenty years ago when he chose to build a home in Minnesota.

“You know, 16, 17 years ago, when I built this place, it was weirdly me almost reliving my youth, in a way,” Josh gave an explanation of his doomsday cabin. “Because I grew up out in the woods in North Dakota, and for me to now be able to pass that on to my kids out there is great.”

Recognizing that Los Angeles is certainly “fantastic,” he went on to underline that “it’s also wonderful to get them out in the woods and get dirty and learn a few things that I learned growing up.”
