Julian McMahon, famous for his role in Nip/Tuck, sadly passed away at 56 on July 2 after privately battling cancer, as his wife confirmed.

Yes, sadly, it's true. Julian McMahon, the Australian actor best known for his roles in Nip/Tuck, Charmed, and Fantastic Four, passed away on July 2, 2025, at the age of 56 after a private battle with cancer.

His wife, Kelly McMahon, shared a heartfelt statement saying he died peacefully in Clearwater, Florida and described him as someone who “loved life, his family, his friends, his work, and his fans.” She added that his deepest wish was “to bring joy into as many lives as possible”.

“With an open heart,” Kelly said in a statement July 4, “I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.”

“We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy,” Kelly came to the conclusion. “And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.”

Julian’s career spanned decades, from early roles in Australian soaps like Home and Away to international fame as the charismatic Dr. Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck. He also portrayed the villainous Dr. Doom in the Fantastic Four films and led the CBS series FBI: Most Wanted.

Julian was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2005 for Best Actor—Television Series Drama for his performance in Nip/Tuck.

The actor, who was previously married to Dannii Minogue and had a daughter named Madison with his ex-wife Brooke Burns, most recently portrayed Australian Prime Minister Stephen Roos in the Netflix series The Residence. This role was appropriate considering that his father, William McMahon, was the prime minister of Australia in the early 1970s.

And nevertheless, Julian lived out his last years in the United States, he never lost touch with his roots.

“I think my soul is Australian. I don’t think you can ever take that away,” in 2007, he stated to Female.com.au. “I love where I grew up and how I grew up, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

He leaves behind a legacy of memorable performances and a devoted fanbase. A truly heartbreaking loss for the entertainment world.
